"New Jersey Blues" 30x30 Original by Mila
In collection of   Artist  Vincent C. Brandi
...Dear Mila,
I was trained in New York as an Abstract painter but in recent years have returned to my family home here on eastern Long Island, where I have been working Abstract landscapes. Kind of cross between Andrew Wyeth and Edward Hopper. Somewhat of strange combination ,anyway I was first and foremost drawn to your work by use of color. It struck me as being quite alive, more so than any works on that web page or even in any of works that I have viewed in galleries herein Hamptons or in NewYork. On taking a loser look I saw those beautiful under curents (looks like dark blues, black and some greens) which due to their placement could have been very sharp, but wisely you seemed to have brushed them  down and made them soft.
I relate this to coming to terms with certain situations in life. Also the feeling of distance, not so much isolation, but at glance the entire field of vision cold be considered as a huge confrontation, thispainting, "at first glance" seems to confront the viewer with it's subtle power, but as you glaze at it for a time you get get sence of distance , of traveling back, if it were a landscape feel like you could see for miles. It really does have wonderful movement and you seem to know how to create it beatifully. Other artists works I feel don't quite capture this movement quite as well as well as you do. The other aspect of the painting that had meaning to to was last but not least the title. New Jersey blues, it reminds me of a situation that I had to deal with during my time in New York. Iwon't go in to the details but for for quite sometime I have looked for it in other artists and have found it in your work. Your painting reminds me of that soft beautiful time of remembering happiness of the of the past while trying  to deal to with  the circumstances of the present and that sadness of all things ended. There is certain beauty beauty in "having the blues", because it is  a time of realization, of looking at ones life and feelings the emotions of life and then trying to better yourself.
I truly love your work and would very much like to see more.

Sincerely Vincent.

.... For quite sometime I have been examining the wonderful Abstractions of artist Mila, and after viewing numerous works of hers, I feel inclined to comment. Mila has that rarely seen true artists eye for brilliant color. I feel the artist uses her extreme sense of color as a vehicle to make these paintings work in that they seem to reflect beautifully the on going struggle of life. These paintings are truly alive in their color composition, arrangement and painter lines.
Mila blasts the viewer with powerful suggestion of emotional experiences that remain with the viewer long after. The eye is almost required to travel across the painting, never really resting at any particular point. In her work there is a lack of   unnecessary detail, It would seem as if the viewer were experiencing a wild summer storm, constantly scanning the eye across the scene to experience the drama that is being performed. These works have a natural vitality and an amazing sense of  movement, yet Mila never seems to over work the paintings. She knows exactly where to stop, giving the works a feeling of power and subtlety. One could say that in the works of Mila, the viewer has the ability to see for miles in her paintings while still being utterly confronted and possibly almost consumed by the liveliness of the works.
I would definitely recommend everyone to check out her works, They are filled with wonderful experiences.
